  • The Role: Alongside the rest of the field therapy team, this Physical Therapist would see approximately 22-25 infants and toddlers in the home to provide therapy (driving time paid, mileage reimbursed). Additionally, they would co-teach our weekly parent-and-me developmental playgroups.

    Responsibilities:

    • Deliver small group and direct services to children with diverse physical abilities, focusing on motor skills development, mobility, and overall physical well-being.

    • Conduct home visits to provide physical therapy services to children in the comfort of their own homes.

    • Assess each child's needs and develop individualized treatment plans to address their specific physical challenges.

    • Co-create and facilitate transdisciplinary early intervention-focused curriculum with a team of other therapists and teachers for 1 weekly session

    • Implement therapeutic exercises, techniques, and interventions to improve children's gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and mobility.

    • Document and maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and any related administrative tasks.

    • Collaborate with other professionals on care team to collaborate on treatment approach for each child.

    • Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers to provide updates on their child's progress and involve them in goal-setting and treatment planning.

    Requirements:

    • Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.

    • Valid California licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist.

    • Experience working with young children, preferably in an educational or early intervention setting.

    • Strong understanding of child development and the impact of physical challenges on overall well-being.

    • Ability to work effectively as part of a transdisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.

    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact compassionately with children, parents, and colleagues.

    • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children of all abilities.

    • Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of a pilot program and work in a collaborative, innovative environment.

    • Genuine belief in the power of inclusion.

    • Regular access to reliable transportation.

    Working Hours:

    • Allocate approx 30-32 hours per week for home visits, providing Physical Therapy services to children in the comfort of their own homes. This includes drive time.

    • Allocate approx 5-7 hours to admin and collaboration time

    • Plan and facilitate 1 weekly developmental playgroup for families and children alongside therapy team

    Physical Requirements of the Job:

    Applicants should be comfortable:

    • Standing for 2+ plus hours per day

    • Stooping, bending, climbing, and walking frequently

    • Lifting up to 40 pounds

    Responsibilities:

    • Deliver direct services to children with diverse needs, fostering their motor, sensory, and cognitive development.

    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for children, in collaboration with parents and other professionals.

    • Conduct assessments and evaluations in children's homes to identify specific therapeutic needs.

    • Provide individualized treatment sessions, focusing on enhancing children's functional abilities in their home environments.

    • Educate and train parents or caregivers on strategies to support their child's development and address specific challenges.

    • Co-create and facilitate transdisciplinary early intervention-focused curriculum with a team of other therapists.

    • Document and maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and any related administrative tasks.

    • Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers to provide updates on their child's progress and involve them in goal-setting and treatment planning.

    • Collaborate with other professionals to support students and share best practices

    • Plan and lead community classes weekly

    Qualifications:

    • A Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.

    • CA State licensure as an Occupational Therapist.

    • Experience working with young children in educational or therapeutic settings.

    • Knowledge of best practices in inclusive education and early childhood development.

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and a multidisciplinary team.

    • Demonstrated understanding of individualized treatment planning and the ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse needs.

    • Ability to work effectively as part of a transdisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.

    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact compassionately with children, parents, and colleagues.

    Working Hours:

    • Approx. 35 hours per week providing home visits therapy to our clients (this includes travel time)

    • Approx 4 hours collaboration and admin time.

    • Approx. 1 hours per week teaching community classes and therapeutic playgroups

    Salary Info: $84,000-$100,000

    Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

    • Valid state licensure and ASHA certification

    • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children, particularly in an inclusive setting, is highly desirable.

    • Knowledge and expertise in assessing and treating a wide range of speech and language disorders.

    • Strong command of AAC Devices and working with students who use them

    • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively balance classroom responsibilities, case management, and home visits.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

    • Knowledge of best practices in inclusive education and early childhood development.

    • Demonstrated understanding of individualized treatment planning and the ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse needs.

    • Ability to work effectively as part of a transdisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
